Mrs Govier – Newton Abbot & Teign Local Ethos and Governance Committee Member and SEND Lead
Having taught in Primary education for 10 years prior to having my own children I was keen to get involved in a useful and meaningful way with my children’s school. I was impressed by the initial meetings with LAP representatives during our transition whilst joining the LAP and liked the ethos communicated to us. It inspired me to get involved and I am looking forward to having an active role alongside attending these meetings as soon as I am able. I think a parent voice is very important to provide perspective and help create a rounded picture of the whole school community. Parent support is so important to children’s development and happiness so if I can help to give an insight that will further strengthen the relationship between home and school then I will feel I am making a useful difference.
